Chipstead Sailing Club

Adult Saturday Club

Bookings to be made at sac@chipsteadsc.org.uk

These FAQs can also be downloaded here.

The aim is to encourage club members to gain more confidence on the water by going out in a controlled environment and sailing on a Saturday morning on the lake with safety boat cover. There is also an opportunity for people who are not club members to try sailing. Boats, buoyancy aids, and general instruction are provided. Individual tuition for adults and under 19 year olds is available, if desired, at an additional cost. (See cost chart below)

These sessions start in May and run through to October most Saturday mornings. They begin at 9:00 am and finish at 12:00

Booking is essential via the club e-mail address sac@chipsteadsc.org.uk and this needs to be made by Wednesday evening prior to your Saturday session so we can organise the necessary instructors.

You are welcome to come along as a non-club member for 4 taster sails but after this we ask you to join the club. You do not need to know how to sail.

Club members can come along to any number of sessions.

You will not need specialist clothing to start sailing. Warm waterproof clothing is necessary in our climate. Old trainers are useful as you may get wet feet when launching and retrieving boats.

We have a selection of boats available for these sessions.

Single handed boats are Laser 1’s and Toppers.
Double handed boats are Vision’s and Wayfarers.

Club Members with their own boats can use either a club training boat or their own boat.
