DF95 Invicta Trophy Race 7th March 2020

Saturday was a dull overcast day starting with a light wind strengthening to strong by Lunchtime

22 sailors turned out for the race from various clubs, Eastbourne MYC, Coalhouse Fort MYC, Alton RSC, Medway RSC, LMYC, Guildford MYC, Woking RSC and Chipstead SC Radio Sailing.

The sailors were welcomed by our Class Captain and Race officer of the day, Dave Allinson and given a short briefing on the day’s events.

There were 10 races before lunch with Ken Binks showing the way as far as results were concerned with 5 first places. The racing was very competitive with a number of Chipstead boats in the first 3 places

Lunch of Shepherd’s Pie (with the usual extra portions) which was prepared by Robin Aldcroft and his wife Linda was served by Jayne Allinson (Dave’s Wife). Our thanks to you for your time and excellent service.

Racing commenced at 1.30pm with the wind slightly stronger that in the morning but still within rig 1 conditions. Again after a slow start Ken showed the way and had 3 firsts in the remaining 7 races.

Racing was finished at 3.30pm and all competitors retired to the club house for tea/coffee and Cake served by Jayne.

The results were calculated and prizes were presented to the first four.
