CHIPSTEAD SAILING CLUB – RE-OPENING
The really great news is that the current guidance allows us to run our summer programme in its entirety! Unsurprisingly there will be restrictions applying to the use of the Clubhouse (especially changing rooms), Bar and Catering Facilities. The Government’s rules on Social Distancing and group size must be obeyed at all times, but we must hope that their hope of total relaxation by late June is realised.

Here are two documents giving details:
We expect that TriSwim and Bromley Canoe Club will also recommence operation at the lake, as laid out in our Programme.
The start of race 1 of the First race of the 2020 Autumn series and the Memorial IOM Handicap race.
Well done Michael on your win which was very good considering the various weather conditions. The days sailing was very interesting with blustery wind sometimes almost at rig two level. As can be seen by the results it was tight scoring at the top of results with equally close scoring for the rest of the fleet, We managed to get 9 races run with some time spent on course adjustments made by Dave to whom we say thank you.
The cup for this event will be presented at the AGM on the 30th October 2020 along with the other presentations.
The results for the day can be seen here.
There are some more photos of the Solo fleet racing here. They were taken on Saturday 26th September
As a club member with some insight into the workings of our General Committee, I would like to give you a small insight into the work they have put into keeping our lovely club afloat. Safely working along Government and RYA Guidelines and keeping in mind Local restrictions.
The Committee in general have spent so many hours and days researching through the ever changing guidelines. Spending hours of their valuable time in extra meetings. Ordering posters. Attaching locks etc etc. Discussing the best format for Lockdown , Easing , Opening up and beyond. To my mind they have been amazing and I certainly would like to extend my appreciation and thanks. It would have brought down lesser mortals.
They certainly stood by the old adage - Stay calm and carry on!
